A method of manufacturing tablet-type green tea by instantly granulating green tea powder and purified water in a fluidized bed granulator is provided to give green tea with good hardness and friability. Green tea leaf is ground in a grinder and classified into a size of 20 to 500mm. The obtained green tea powder is mixed with purified water and a binding agent and sprayed to give granular green tea powder with a moisture content of 5% or less. The granular green tea powder is dried with dry air of 40deg.C or less for 30min to 1hr, tableted with a tabletting machine or an encapsulating machine and coated with sugar liquid or film formulation in a coating machine. The binding agent is an adhesive paste selected from the group consisting of guar gum, xanthan gum, Arabic gum, agar, carrageenan, Konjak, tara gum and locust bean gum. The tea extract is selected from the group consisting of green extract powder, concentrated green tea extract, high-concentration catechin, low-concentration catechin and tea polyphenol compounds. |
