<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst for selectively oxidizing carbon monoxide from a raw gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen; a method for reducing a concentration of carbon monoxide using the catalyst; and a fuel battery system using the method. <P>SOLUTION: In the catalyst, an inorganic oxide carrier is carried with at least one kind of a metal selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd, Ru, Au, Rh and Ir, and after carried, a content of chlorine before drying is 100 mass ppm or lower against the carrier. By using such the catalyst, the concentration of carbon monoxide can be reduced by selectively oxidizing carbon monoxide in the raw gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
