PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a situation where a recording medium to be sent out from a fixing device and separated from the fixing member, in particular its solid part, is adhered to a separation member and where glossy streaks are formed.SOLUTION: There is provided a recording medium separation member that separates a recording medium to be sent out from a fixing nip formed by two rotors from the rotor facing an image surface of the recording medium, where a plurality of concave shapes are formed in a paper feed-side leading end area toward the fixing nip of the recording medium separation member over a range corresponding at least to a paper feed area; extending lines of the concave shapes are oblique relative to a recording medium conveyance direction, and the extending lines of the adjacent concave shapes have an overlapping part with respect to a direction orthogonal to the recording medium conveyance direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
