A display device is provided. The display device comprises a substrate, and a plurality of pixels including a first sub pixel and a second sub pixel. The first sub pixel includes a first cover layer defining a first cavity on the substrate, a first liquid crystal layer positioned in the first cover layer, and a first pixel electrode and a first common electrode applying an electric field to the first liquid crystal layer. The second sub pixel includes a second cover layer defining a second cavity on the substrate, a second liquid crystal layer positioned in the second cover layer, and a second pixel electrode and a second common electrode applying an electric field to the second liquid crystal layer. A distance between the first pixel electrode and the first common electrode can be different from a distance between the second pixel electrode and the second common electrode. According to the present invention, a bonding process for two substrates is omitted in manufacturing the display device. Also, a used amount of the substrate and liquid crystal is decreased in comparison to a conventional display device. |
