The present invention relates to a method for calculating a bending point and an angle of an orthodontic archwire using a computer and a program thereof. The method is performed through a computer (for example, desktop, laptop, tablet PC, etc.) capable of reading out a stereo-lithography (STL) file which is stored by one 3D cad program and is one of international standard formats representing 3D modeling data. The method includes the steps of: sequentially extracting the coordinates of a bending point from position data of an archwire stored in a corresponding STL file when a shape of the archwire is input in an STL file format; and, after a length (L) between two bending points, a bending angle (&thgr;) of each bending point and a bending directional angle (α) of each bending point are calculated, outputting the length (L), the bending angles (&thgr;), and the bending directional angles (α) as archwire manufacturing data, wherein the two bending points are sequentially adjacent to each other between a start point and an end point of a raw wire of a straight line shape used for manufacturing the archwire by using the extracted bending point coordinates. When the bending angles (&thgr;), and the bending directional angles (α) are output as archwire manufacturing data, a precise archwire may be fully-automatically manufactured by using an automatic archwire manufacturing to which the archwire manufacturing data are input. |
