PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film capable of suppressing interference colors observed from an oblique direction and blackout when mounted on a display unit such as a liquid crystal display, and excellent in processability.SOLUTION: The polyester film satisfies the followings (a)-(c). (a) The inclination of a main orientation axis to a longitudinal direction of the polyester film is not less than 30° and not greater than 60°. (b) The retardation of the polyester film at a wavelength of 590 nm when a light flux is transmitted from a main orientation axis direction by an angle of 40° to a film surface is not greater than 1,500 nm. (c) The tear propagation resistance in a longitudinal direction of the polyester film, and the tear propagation resistance in a width direction are not less than 8 N/mm and not greater than 25 N/mm together.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
