PRODUCTION OF LAMELLAR GELATINIZED MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a lamellar gelatinized material on an industrial scale at a low cost by adding an aqueous liquid of a combination of xanthan gum and locust bean gum to an aqueous liquid of a substance gelatinizable by cooling and cooling the obtained liquid mixture. CONSTITUTION:The objective gelatinized material can be produced by adding (A) an aqueous liquid containing a combination of xanthan gum and locust bean gum and preferably further containing tara gum in combination with cassia gum to (B) an aqueous liquid containing a substance gelatinizable by cooling (e.g., carrageenan or agar) and cooling the mixture below gelatinization temperature.
