PURPOSE: To transparentize and restore a light-transmitting material whitened as the result of a continued photoreaction and to thereby enable the continuation of an effective photoreaction by boiling the clouded material in a fluorine-based inert solvent or by heating it in the vapor of the solvent. CONSTITUTION: The shape of a light-transmitting material made of a tetrafluoroethylene/ethylene copolymer (ETFE), a tetrafluoroethylene/ hexafluoropropylene copolymer (FEP) or the like, may be such that a cylindrical container made of a fluoroolefin polymer is used as the reaction tube, or a glass material surface is coated with a fluoroolefin polymer. The clouded light- transmitting material can be transparentized by restoration by immersing it in a fluorine-based inert solvent, such as a 6-20C perfluoroalkane or a 9-20C perfluoroalkylamine, having a boiling point of 150 deg.C or above and being stable at 150 deg.C or above under pressure and heating it at 150 deg.C or above for 0.5-18hr or by heating it in the vapor of the solvent at 100-250 deg.C.
|
