A hangtag has a sample fabric portion of the same fabric material used to cover a lampshade which is protected by a covering. The fabric portion is accessible to enable a consumer to touch and feel the sample fabric portion and determine whether to proceed with purchasing the lampshade despite the inability to directly pouc h the fabric material on the lampshade due to the presence of the covering.
