PURPOSE: To provide the optical disk device without deteriorating recording and reproducing characteristics by reducing a tilt angle detecting error caused by an objective lens and a tilt angle detecting means not to be set on the same position with each other. CONSTITUTION: The tilt angle detecting means 14 for detecting an inclination of a disk 11 above the objective lens 13 of an optical head 12 is disposed along a concentric circle of the disk 11 passing above the objective lens 13. The objective lens 13 and the tilt angle detecting means 14 are turned around a turning center shaft 16 as a fulcrum by a tilt angle operating means 15. The tilt angle detecting means 14 is so disposed that an angleθ1 formed by the direction of a turning shaft 17 for a tilt angle that can be detected by the tilt angle detecting means 14 and the tangential direction to the concentric circle of the disk 11 passing above the objective lens 13 of the optical head 12 should be a prescribed angle larger than 0 deg.. By this method, the tilt angle detecting error is reduced and the recording and reproducing characteristics are prevented from deteriorating.
