METHOD OF PRINTING AND A SUITABLE PRINTER

The method of printing involves forming a matrix of depressions on the surface of a form cylinder, filling the depressions with ink, removing ink from the depressions which do not form an image for reproduction, and transferring ink from the depressions forming the image to a carrier medium. The printer is provided with means for filling all the matrix depressions with ink and removing ink from those cavities which do not form an image for reproduction.
