摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set a reference position for determining the development region of an annular image by using a software technology in converting the annular image taken by an omnidirectional imaging lens into a panoramically developed image. <P>SOLUTION: In the method and device for detecting the reference position of the annular image by the omnidirectional imaging, the center coordinates, the radius of an inner circle and the radius of an outer circle indicating the development region of the annular image into the panoramic image are found based on the annular image, whose development region is clearly defined, taken by an omnidirectional imaging device with the omnidirectional lens on which an annular reference line indicating the border of the development region of the annular image into the panoramic image is printed, or taken within a case whose internal wall surface is white. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
