The chamfer cutter has a body (3) and a cutting plaque (9) removable retained at the end of the body. Each plaquet is fixed at the end of an arm (8) extending radially from an annular body of a plaquet carrier (5a,b). The tool body has a cap (4) in which the annular body is pivotally mounted for movement around an axis extending transversely to the tool body. The lower part of the cap receives an interchangeable indexing bar (17) having a semi-circular tooth (12) engaging in a corresponding toothing in the ring body.
