The invention refers to a sulphur hexafluoride switch gear with three positions (closed, open and grounded), which performs a load and short-circuit current interruption function, as well as the separating and grounding functions, designed for medium voltage equipment and is used by itself or within certain assemblies in electric current supply systems. The switch gear has two phase-breaking points and, on each breaking point, in the coil form of the electric arc quench system, which operates according to the principle of self-compression and self-expansion asymmetrical quench, and is made up of some pressure cams (9), some screens (15), some nozzles (16) and the main contacts (10, 11, 17), overlaps a second electric arc quench system based on the rotation on the breaking surfaces of the main fixed contacts (10, 11) at the moment of their separation from the main mobile contacts (17), due to the interaction between the current in the electric arc and the induction created by the coil (19) that this current goes through, which creates its rotary force. The switch-gear activating mechanism (6) allows execution of the connecting-disconnecting operations, for the main fixed contacts (10, 11), as well as for the grounding contacts (12, 13), independently from the operator.
