<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral injection pipe capable of completely eliminating the injection needle erroneous piercing accidents and hospital infection accidents of persons engaged in medical treatment and patients. <P>SOLUTION: The lateral injection pipe of the invention has an inner cavity 2 having a straight shape that communicates at the bottom with a connection passage 7 via step parts and a cylindrical housing 1 whose upper part forming a tapered inner cavity 4 converging to a constricted open end 3. The lateral injection pipe is characterized in that the inner cavity of the lateral injection pipe is loaded forcibly with an elastic plug 10 having a cylindrical middle part 9 and a top part 8 with a longitudinal aperture 11. When a tip tube C' of a syringe C is inserted into the upper open end 3, the cylindrical elastic plug 10 supported by the step parts is compressed and moves downward in the inner cavity 4 to expand the top part 8 in the planer direction and to open the closed longitudinal aperture.
