PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily recognize the condition of a sewing machine. SOLUTION: Under normal conditions, the disc of a color changing device 13 has a transparent filter situated immediately below the light emitting part of a sewing machine lamp 12, thus illuminating portions around the upper surface of a needle plate with natural light emitted from the sewing machine lamp 12 and passed through the transparent filter. When a normal operation is performed under these conditions, a color changing monitor 17 is driven and the disc is rotated to position a green filter immediately below the light emitting part of the sewing machine lamp 12, so that the natural light emitted from the sewing machine lamp 12 is converted into green light as it passes through the green filter, the green light illuminating the portions around the upper surface of the needle plate. |
