PURPOSE: A method of switching a call in a facsimile telegraph is to automatically switch the call when receiving voice communication reservation from a counterpart after transmitting/receiving image data through the facsimile telegraph connected to a private exchanger to/from the counterpart. CONSTITUTION: A voice communication reserved telephone number is received from a user and then registered. When receiving a voice communication reservation requiring signal from a counterpart during transmitting/receiving of the image data after forming a communicating path with the counterpart, a hook-flashing operation is performed to maintain a holding state in an exchanger, and than the registered telephone number is automatically dialed to the exchanger to call a corresponding extension telephone. In case the corresponding extension telephone responses, a call connected with a facsimile telegraph is switched to form a communicating path. In the method, when receiving the voice communication reservation requiring signal from the counterpart, an internal storing region is led to detect whether the extension telephone number is registered.
