PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal which is easy to use by enabling an automatic dialing process to control timing of automatic dialing through operations of the facsimile terminal other than those in 'at selection', 'present' and 'under execution' modes so as to attain facsimile communication that a capability of a CPU is maximally utilized. SOLUTION: A control circuit 4 controls the timings of automatic dialing depending on operations of the facsimile terminal other than those in the 'at selection', 'present' and 'under execution' modes in the facsimile terminal where a software program processes its modem function. More specifically, the automatic dialing process estimates an operation completion time of the facsimile terminal other than those in the 'at selection' and 'under execution' modes, and the control circuit 4 controls the timing of automatic dialing to be delayed more, when the estimated operation completion time is smaller than a prescribed time, and the automatic dialing process estimates an operation load on the CPU of the facsimile terminal other than those in the 'at selection' and 'under execution' modes, and the control circuit 4 controls the timing of automatic dialing to be delayed more, when the estimated CPU load is heavier. Furthermore, a display circuit 9 receives and displays information outputted from the control circuit 4.
