PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize message communication with multiplexed stations adopting simplified processing and configuration in a ring type network system. SOLUTION: A message frame including a message sent from a sender transmission station A to multiplexed stations B, C has a multiplex response instruction flag to inform the stations B, C of presence of the multiplexed stations. When the multiplexed station B receiving the frame first sets the flag because no flag is set, transmits the message frame to a down-stream stations, generates an ACK frame and stores an acknowledgement with respect to the message. The next multiplexed station C receiving the message frame checks the flag and awaits transmission of the ACK frame because the flag is set. Then the multiplexed station C adds its own acknowledgement in succession to the acknowledgement of the station B receiving the ACK frame to the frame and transmits the resulting frame to down-stream stations. Upon the receipt of the ACK frame, the sender transmission station A extracts the acknowledgement from the multiplexed stations B, C.
