SHADOW MASK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical and easily manufactured shadow mask capable of favorably exercising both functions of a mask and a frame. SOLUTION: This shadow mask having a frame comprising a pair of oppositely placed long side frame materials 40 and a pair of short side frame materials 30 connecting the long side frame materials 40 prevents occurrence of an excessive thermal stress and a permanent set to a mask 10 due to a thermal expansion difference of upper and lower frame 42 and 44 even when using invar alloys or the like for the mask 10 and the upper frame 42 and inexpensive steel products or the like for the lower frame 44 by equipping the long side frame materials 40 with the upper frame 42 whereon the mask 10 is bonded and the lower frame 44 supporting the upper frame 42 and allowing relative expansive and contractive deformation in an axial direction of the long side.
