摘要 PURPOSE: A device for switching sub-rate data using a bit operation is provided to previously assign a time slot bit to several channels by the bit operation, so as to maximize efficiency of a pulse code modulation(PCM) channel. The device is provided to implement several channels having a low bit ratio to one 64Kbps channel, so as to supply data services to subscribers. CONSTITUTION: A switch(10) switches a 8bit time slot to a desired path to output the 8bit time slot after data inputted to sub-rates of 32,16,8Kbps is assigned to the 8bit time slot by a bit operating function. A clock generator(11) generates a mask/fill clock for enabling bits of the time slots to which the sub-rate data is assigned. A bit operator(12) combines enabled bit data to assign several channels to one time slot by using the bit operating function according to the mask/fill clock. A first and second high-level data link control(HDLC) controllers(13-1,13-2) assign data of the sub-rates stored in DPRAM to corresponding number bits of 8bit time slots by rates, and output the assigned data to the bit operator. A first and second DPRAMs(14-1,14-2) store the data of the sub-rates inputted from the switch to each channel. A central process unit(CPU)(15) controls operations of each block.
