PURPOSE: A method for converting a receiving mode depending on power kinds of a terminal is provided to continuously operate a terminal receiver, when a power supplied to a mobile phone or a wireless terminal is for an adapter or a hands-free power, so that the terminal more quickly receive calling signals. CONSTITUTION: A sensor equipped in a terminal determines a kind of a main power supplier. If the main power supplier is a battery, a slot mode is operated between base stations. If the main power supplier is an external power supplier, power of the receiver is continuously on, to detect calling signals of a base station. If kinds of the main power supplier are changed, the sensor selectively determines a kind of the main power supplier. A controller of the terminal selectively transforms the receiving mode.
