PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel retractable dome-like roof of a roof opening type, which can simplify a movable roof drive unit, and can be constructed at a low cost. SOLUTION: The retractable dome-like roof has a substantially square planar shape, and is provided with a pair of movable roofs A1 and A2 and a fixed roof B. The movable roofs A1 and A2 each exhibit an arch-like shape, and they are arranged across a diagonal line e of the square. The fixed roof B has an opening 3 formed therein, which is opened and closed by the movable roofs A1 and A2. By moving the movable roofs A1 and A2 along adjacent two sides a and b across the diagonal line e, the opening 3 is opened and closed.
