A post assembly (10) comprising a base member (12), an arm assembly (11) pivotally mounted on said base member (12), locking means (15) for preventing selective pivotal movement of said arm assembly (11) relative to said base member (12), and a post (13) having a cavity formed in an end portion (14), which is adapted to receive the arm member (11) in a substantially upright operative condition. The locking means (15) are configured to permit pivotal movement of the arm assembly (11) on application of a force in excess of the predetermined value.
