PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sensitively detecting depending on a quality requirement of an object to be inspected, particularly detecting unevenness at high speed while preventing false detection of the unevenness having a large size and a small density difference. SOLUTION: The device for detecting unevenness in image density comprises (a) a lighting source 1, (b) an imager 3 for imaging the object 2 to be inspected, (c) a processing computer 4 comprising a memory 4a for storing received light quantity data, binarized data by a threshold value, matched data and the like, binarization means 4b, a mapping means 4c for mapping, as a logical sum, a reduced pickup image, from which an area threshold value or below is excluded and which is binarized, to an original pickup image from which the area threshold value or below is excluded and which is binarized, and a CPU for controlling and managing them, (d) an input device 6 for inputting a threshold value of the received light quantity and the area threshold value, and (e) a display device 7 for displaying a processed image.
