PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solution casting film forming method for obtaining a cellulose ester film of high quality by allowing a casting belt to stably run without generating the meandering of the belt in a band type casting apparatus, and a method for manufacturing the cellulose ester film. SOLUTION: In the solution casting film forming method using a casting endless belt circulating to run and a pair of drums to cast a solution to the surface of the endless belt positioned on the upper side between the drums, the relation between the length change quantity (ΔL1 ) of the endless belt at the belt temperature of 20 deg.C of the upper section (B1 ) between the drums and at the time of casting film formation and the length change quantity (ΔL2 ) of the endless belt at the belt temperature of 20 deg.C of the lower section (B2 ) between drums and at the time of casting film formation is set to formula (1):|ΔL1 -ΔL2|<=0.00025×L.
