The printing machine produces a number of components common to different types of secure printing. The common elements are formed by screen printing with a screen-carrier drum (3) co-operating with a pressure drum (4). The printed item then passes through a drier (5) followed by a transfer cylinder (6) and a second pressure cylinder (7) that co-operates with a security mark printer (13).
