POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE REGRIND PARTICLE PROCESSING SYSTEM

A method and apparatus for producing a polyethylene terephthalate {PET} sheet in which virgin PET granules are dried with dry air in a drying air (16) at a temperature above the glass transition temperature of PET. Regrind PET material is also dried with dry air at a temperature below the glass transition temperature. Dried virgin PET granules are air cooled in a cooling hopper (32) to a temperature below the glass transition. The cooled virgin PET granules are blended with the dried PET regrind material and the blend is then extruded into a PET sheet by extruders (54).
