2,3-Dihydro-6-nitroimidazo[2,1-b] oxazoles represented by the general formula (1): (1) (H) [wherein R 1 is hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl; n is an integer of 0 to 6; and R2 is -OR3 or the like (wherein R3 is hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, or the like), or R1 and -(CH2) nR2may be united via a nitrogen atom to form together with the adjacent carbon atom a spiro ring represented by the general formula (H) (wherein R41 is hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, or the like)]. The compounds exhibit excellent bactericidal activity against tubercle bacillus, multiple drug resistant tubercle bacillus, and atypical acid- fast bacteria.
