An apparatus and a method for controlling the preset white balance of an image communication terminal are provided to obtain the exact white balance and control the color sense and temperature more clearly and exactly. A preset mode is started by a user and a preset white mode is set(S101,S102). A preset lens is overlapped and arranged at the front of a camera lens(S103). The photographing is started at this state(S104) and at this time, the preset white balance is measured from the captured image(S105). The entire white balance value is calculated through the measured preset white balance value(S106) and the calculated value is applied to the entire image(S107).
