PURPOSE: To accurately estimate depth and motion without repeating calculation by evaluating the reliability of the estimated result by block matching in a form independent of the luminance gradient and block size, and integrating the estimated results in plural block sizes. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a frame memory 1 for reference image for storing a reference image, frame memory 2 for image to be referred to for storing an image to be referred to, block correlation arithmetic circuits 3A-3D for performing block correlation arithmetic and estimated value reliability evaluated value arithmetic in plural block sizes, and estimated value integration arithmetic circuit 4 for evaluating the reliability of the result estimated by block matching without depending on the luminance gradient and the block size and for integrating the estimated results in plural block sizes. |
