An apparatus for decreasing a dark current of a vehicle is provided to reduce the discharge of a battery by allowing a current to bypass when an off-signal of a hall sensor is applied. A dark current decreasing apparatus comprises an encoder for detecting the RPM of a motor in a motor-driven power steering. A plurality of hall sensors are provided in the encoder to detect the RPM of the motor according to voltages from each hall sensor. A micro control unit(4) is connected to the encoder to drive the motor by receiving a signal from the encoder. A motor relay switch(6) performs a phase control switching according to toe angles. First, second and third field effect transistors(8) are connected in parallel to each other to apply output values to the hall sensors. A resistor(10) is formed in parallel between the second and third field effect transistors.
