The device (21) has a cutting device (23), and a container for containing waste to be minced. The cutting device has a knife (1) which acts in tandem with a fixed knife (2) and is mounted such that the knife (1) moves lengthwise along a direction of the waste to be minced. A feeding section is provided for putting the waste, and a fixing device is provided to position the waste during mincing and cutting process. An independent claim is also included for a method for mincing and containing a waste e.g. domestic waste and kitchen waste.
