<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing hologram element in which the degree of freedom of the optical design and the degree of freedom for the multifunctional design can easily be increased without increasing the cost so much, to provide a method of manufacturing a polarizing hologram element and to provide an optical pickup device equipped with the polarizing hologram element. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing hologram element 10 for a three-beam method has such a structure composed of a BK7 substrate 1 having a grating 9 processed therein, another BK7 substrate 3 formed thereon with an adhesive layer 2 interposed, an organic birefringent material (optically anisotropic material) 5 disposed thereon with an adhesive layer interposed, an overcoat layer (optically transparent material) 6 disposed thereon, and another BK7 substrate 7 formed thereon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
