PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide shoes equipped with a heel counter which keeps the hold nature of the heel bone upper part of a foot raised during exercises, especially immediately after landing. SOLUTION: In the shoes 1 equipped with the heel counter 10, the heel counter 10 comprises a heel counter main unit 13 arranged at the back end of the heel bone C<SB>A</SB>of the foot of a shoes wearing person P, a lower part support part 11 prolonged in the respective front and back directions on the inside and outside instep sides of the shoes 1 along the lower part of the heel bone C<SB>A</SB>from the heel counter main unit 13, an upper part support part 12 prolonged in the shape of a strip in the respective front and back directions on the inside and outside instep sides of the shoes 1 along the upper part of the heel bone C<SB>A</SB>from the heel counter main unit 13, and a notch 14, which is formed between upper and lower support parts 11 and 12 and keeps the bottom 14a extending into the heel counter main unit 13 so as to separate in an up-and-down direction the upper and lower parts support parts 11 and 12.
