<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which has trays capable of automatically distinguishing irregular-sized transfer sheets of several sizes. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming device having one or more trays 30a, 30b, and 30c for placing a stack of transfer sheets P on which images are formed, at least one of the trays 30 is provided with a size detecting means capable of measuring the size of a transfer sheet steplessly in a main scanning direction and a size detection means 32 capable of measuring the size of a transfer sheet steplessly in a sub-scanning direction. A transfer sheet information storage means 103 is disposed in a control part 100. The size of an irregular-size transfer sheet is automatically read and it is stored together with other necessary information. Accordingly, even in the case where transfer sheets of various irregular sizes are set on the tray, the tray automatically distinguishes them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
