PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying machine or a washing and drying machine which has improved drying finish without enlarging the volume of a drum. SOLUTION: The drying machine, which has a rotary drum for containing clothes, a motor for driving the rotary drum and a case for holding the rotary drum and makes drying operation, is equipped with blowing means which blows the air into the rotary drum; the blowing means includes an air blowing means and a nozzle equipped at a spout of the air blowing means, the air blowing means has a front plate which has a suction opening, a posterior plate, an impeller comprising fins which are provided between the front plate and the posterior plate and further retracted in a direction opposite to the rotation as they advance from the center to the outside, and a spiral flow passage, wherein the axial distance of the impeller in the flow passage is gradually increased toward the outlet in the flow passage approaches.
