The present invention relates to an apparatus for sensing dust, comprising: a dust sensing unit which senses dust from surrounding air; a communication unit which communicates with an air purifier with respect to a signal including the detected dust information; a control unit which controls the dust sensing unit and the communication unit; and a detachable unit in order that the apparatus for sensing dust is detachable to the air purifier. The apparatus for sensing dust can sense dust information used in the air purifier.
