PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable IC card including a card base material and an antenna improved in physical durability, and a method for manufacturing the IC card, and to reduce cost for forming the antenna.SOLUTION: An IC card 1 is for both non-contact and contact use, and includes an IC chip 11 performing radio communications with an external device using an antenna 20 and contact communications with an external device using an external contact terminal 14. The IC card 1 also includes: a mounting substrate 12 on which the IC chip 11 is mounted and that has a substrate side connection 13 connected with the antenna 20 at each of ends of the substrate; and conductive plates 33 and 34 that are electrically connected to both ends 23 and 24 of the antenna 20, respectively, and of which installed areas overlap with substrate corners 12a, 12b, 12d, and 12e when a top surface 2a of the IC card 1 is viewed in a normal direction. An upper layer 3 and a lower layer 4 is bonded on contact surfaces in plural through holes 33c and 34c of the conductive plates 33 and 34 in the installed areas of the conductive plates. |
