<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an image drawing speed and a total speed of the whole apparatus by a method wherein data coded by packed bits are subjected to high speed expansion. <P>SOLUTION: In a packed bits expansion circuit, a writing method into a register is changed by existence of data held in an output stage register.
