PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying apparatus capable of correcting skew of a recording medium even when a conveying direction of the recording medium is changed according to a conveying path.SOLUTION: A conveying apparatus includes: a conveying path 10 where a recording medium is conveyed; a first pair of rollers; and a second pair of rollers. The first pair of rollers is positioned in the conveying path 10 and comprises a drive roller 301 and a driven roller 401. The second pair of rollers is positioned on a downstream side relative to the first pair of rollers in a conveying direction of the recording medium and conveys the recording medium conveyed by the first pair of rollers. The drive roller 301 moves toward the driven roller 401 in accordance with conveyance resistance receiving from the recording medium when the recording medium is further conveyed by the second pair of rollers while a leading edge of the recording medium is being stopped. The driven roller 401 also moves following movement of the drive roller 301. When the second pair of rollers conveys the recording medium, the drive roller 301 idly rotates. |
