WEIGHT STANDARDIZATION MACHINE

Weight normalising machine is for machining workpieces of variable excess weight to a given weight standard. AT a weighing station, a side determines the amount of excess weight and, at a machining station, a metal machining device has a workpiece gripper or clamp and a cutter which can be held against the workpiece to remove the excess weight. A feeler determines initial contact between cutter and workpiece and a storage device obtains the excess weight information of the workpiece to control the feed stroke of the cutter to remove a prescribed amount of material and reduce the weight to the standard. A switch device changes over workpieces between weighing station and machining station.
