The present invention relates to an arrangement which, in combination with drilling, nailing or riveting machines normally held by hand, makes it easier and quicker to carry out work upwards, for example in roofs, said arrangement consisting of two mutually parallel rod- shaped elements 1 and 2 located at a distance from one another and offset in the longitudinal direction, which elements 1 and 2 are connected movably to two mutually parallel link arms 3 and 4 located at a distance from one another, and a lever arm 15 connected to the link arm 4. At its upper part, the arrangement has a holder 11 for attachment of a machine 21.
