PURPOSE:To provide a high-calorie fuel composition having a high safety useful as a fuel for a racing car or motor bicycle, which comprises a polycyclic compound having a specific range of specific gravity, boiling point and research octanevalue and a specific hydrocarbon having a high octane value. CONSTITUTION:A fuel composition for a racing car or motor bicycle is obtained by incorporation of a polycyclic compound having a specific gravity (15/4 deg.C) of at least 0.88, a boiling point of 50-250 deg.C and a research octane value of 50-85 (for example, exo-trimethylenenorbornane or tetrahydroacenaphthene). Further, a fuel composition for a racing car or motor bicycle is obtained by incorporation of a polycyclic compound having a specific gravity (15/4 deg.C) of at least 0.88, a boiling point of 50-250 deg.C and a research octane value of 50-85 and a high-octane hydrocarbon having a boiling point of 50-250 deg.C and a research octane value of at least 90 (for example, toluene or isooctane).
