PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitor containing a peptide as an active ingredient existing in a liquid prepared by hydrolyzing shark meat with thermolysin and to provide a method for producing the same since an inexpensively producible angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitor having higher adsorbability in the blood vessel and safety is always demanded not only as a medicine but also as a specific health insurance food. SOLUTION: This angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitor or a food contains a peptide composed of Met-Trp, Val-Thr-Arg, Val-Ser-Trp, Leu-Trp-Ala or Phe-Arg-Val-Pro-Thr-Pro-Asn, its salt or its mixture. The method for producing the mixture containing the peptide comprises hydrolyzing shark meat with a protease. |
