<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a backlight with LED elements as light sources reduced in power consumption and to make a liquid crystal display device improved in luminance unevenness. <P>SOLUTION: Two or more LED light sources are disposed in such a manner that angles by which respective optical axes can cross each other are incorporated to the respective LED light sources.
