PURPOSE:To load an optical fiber smoothly into a pipe, by driving and rotating an optical fiber supply spool according to the transfer condition of the optical fiber in the pipe so that a fluctuation in the loading speed of the optical fiber is detected immediately upon generation of such fluctuation and the feed speed is controlled to follow up the loading speed. CONSTITUTION:A pair of oscillating motors 3a, 3b are driven and the spiral oscillations thereof are applied via an oscillating table 2 to a steel pipe roll R. The optical fiber 6 wound on the spool 13 is moved to a pipe terminal 8 via a holding guide 12, an optical fiber feed condition detector 11, an oscillationproof guide 10, a pipe inlet end 7 and a pipe P. The spool supply speed is increased by a motor 14 to increase the supply speed of the fiber 6 when an upper detector 11A turns on to detect the overtension of the fiber 6 upon generation of the fluctuation in the loading speed of the fiber into the pipe. The motor 14 is controlled to lower the speed of the fiber 6 when a lower detector 11B detects the oveslackening of the fiber 6. |
