Ehd1 GENE WHICH PROMOTES FLORESCENCE OF VEGETABLE AND APPLICATION OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gene controlling florescence of a vegetable, and to modify the florescence of the vegetable by utilizing the gene.

SOLUTION: A detailed linkage analysis on an Ehd1 region is carried out by a large scaled segregating population which is indispensable in map base cloning. And as the result, an isolation of the Ehd1 gene promoting head spout of rice plant is achieved. Modification of head spout of the rice plant is achieved by introducing the gene. From these results the isolated and identified Ehd1 gene can be applied for promotion of head spout of plants.
