SELECTIVE HYDROGENATION OF DIENES AND ACETYLENES IN C3 STREAMS

A process for the selective hydrogenation of the diolefins and acetylenic compounds in a propylene rich stream is disclosed wherein the selective hydrogenation is carried out in a distillation column reactor containing a supported PdO hydrogenation catalyst which serves as a component of a distillation structure. Essentially no hydrogenation of the propylene occurs, and further, little or no oligomerization of the C3 compounds is noted.
