PURPOSE:To decrease fogging and to improve image fastness by incorporating silver chloride added with a spectral sensitizing dye or silver chlorobromide emulsion contg. >=90mol% silver chloride and high boiling point solvent having <=6 dielectric constant into the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The fogging of the resultant photosensitive material is decreased if the spectral sensitizing dye is added during the physical-ripening which is the production process of silver halide particles: particularly during the growth of the particles in the case of forming the silver chloride or the silver chlorobromide emulsion contg. >=90mol% silver chloride. Since at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer contains the high boiling point solvent having <=6 dielectric constant, the fastness of the dye image thereof is high. The problem of the softened contrast in gradation is solved by the addition of the above-mentioned spectral sensitizing dye. |
